How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I began my mortgage industry career in 1997 working with secondary lending, Heloc’s, and lines of credit. In 2007 I met a group of Loan Officers while working as a clothing retailer sales executive. They were looking to purchase some clothing for a company Christmas party, and after selling them $10,000 in goods, their manager did not hesitate to offer me a job on the spot as a Loan Officer.

Tell us about a challenging borrowing situation and how you would get the mortgage closed and funded.
A borrower's home appraisal came in lower than we expected and they needed cash out to fix a roof. We used a a bridge loan to fix the roof, refinanced, and closed in 60 days, saving them $300 a month.

What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
Sourcing docs is the most frustrating part of the mortgage process. Sometimes if borrowers think we are too intrusive or ask too many questions, I talk to them in a simple and straighforward manner to help them understand why we need specific documentation.

What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Handing the keys over to a new homeowner or family at the closing table is always a great feeling! Watching the kids see the home for the first time and seeing the joy in a parent's face that can provide a home for their family brings a smile to my face.
