How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it? I've been in this industry over 20 years. My mom was a realtor and I would spend afternoons and summers at her office, so you could even say that I grew up in this in this business! I knew I wanted to work in housing, but not as a real estate agnet, so I started as an escrow assistant and became an escrow officer over the course of 8 years. After I was a marketing rep for a few years, I decided to pursue my passion of helping borrowers get into their homes as a Loan Officer.
What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it? I think the hardest part is making the initial phone call. Once borrowers realize that the dream of homeownership can be a reality, they are happy to send and upload their documents. Having their hand held every step of the way makes them feel empowered and helps the transaction run smoothly with minimal stress.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer? I love telling my borrowers we have "clear to close". It's my favorite part!
